Pam is built for people who have good reason to be careful. Here is what we keep, who can see it, and what we will never do.Last updated 10 October 2026.

Your guide

Your guide is the person who invited you, or a staff member responsible for guiding you.

What we keep

Your first name, your phone number, and the language you pick. What you sign up for, the visits you plan, whether you went, and the points you earn. The messages, photos and documents you send in Pam. We keep them so you can see them later. Before a photo leaves your phone, Pam makes it smaller and takes out where and when it was taken. Only the person you send it to can see it.You can also send a PDF or a Word file. Pam sends it just as it is, so look at what is in it first. Only the person you send it to can open it. A Google Docs link opens in Google, and Google decides who can see that doc, not Pam.When you send a link, Pam's server opens the page once to get its title and picture, so the two of you see a preview under Stuff shared. Pam keeps that title and picture with the message. Your phone does not visit the page until you tap the link.If you work with Pam as a case manager or for a program, we also keep the email address you were invited with. Pam uses it to write to you. Only the Pam team can see it. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it too. Members are never asked for an email.

Who can see it

Your guide can see what you are working on, the programs you joined, your visits, your points, your level, your badges, the last day you used Pam, when you save a new place (not which one), and who you connect with. They cannot read your messages to other people, or see the photos or documents you send to other people. They cannot see what you share with your buddies. They cannot see people who are not on their list. They do see everything you say or send to them, when they message you directly. Of your messages to anyone else, they see one only if someone reports it as not safe. Then they see that message, and its photo or document if it has one. Nothing else from the chat. This is the same list we show you when you join. If it ever changes, we will tell you first.

When we limit an account

Your guide can limit or pause an account that is hurting other people. They have to write down why.A limited account can read messages but cannot send them. A paused account cannot sign in. You can always call Pam for help.

Text messages

We text you a code when you sign in. Later we may text reminders and updates about your account.Reply STOP any time and the texts stop. Nothing in the app can turn them back on.Your phone company may charge you for texts. That is between you and them.

What a text will never say

A text lands on a screen other people can read. So our messages never say why you use Pam, never name your program, and never say anything about your record. This is not a promise we ask you to trust. It is checked by tests every time we change the app.

Who else gets your information

We do not sell it. We do not trade it. We do not run ads.A program sees you only after you sign up with them, and only what they need to help you.We use other companies to run Pam, like the one that sends our texts and the one that stores our data. They handle your information for us and may not use it for anything else.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, and your messages, photos and documents, while you use Pam. Ask us to delete it and we will. Some records stay for a while so a program can prove you attended. We keep as little as we can, for as short a time as we can. When we delete your account, we keep a short record that it existed for six months: what it did in Pam, and what Pam's staff did to it. It has no name, phone number or email in it. After six months we delete that too.

What you can do

Stop the texts by replying STOP.Ask us for a copy of what we keep about you, or ask us to delete it.Block someone, or report a message that is not safe. Both are in a conversation's ⋯ menu.

Talk to a person

If something here worries you, call us. A person answers.Pam is run by Oba, a company in Philadelphia.
